Day 7 - 2 in Salzburg

Day 2 happened to be a little more rested as compared to the rest of the trip because it started to rain! Well, we are already very thankful that it rained only in the afternoon because before we left for the trip, the forecast for all the places said that they would all rain but we didnt really encounter rain (except that time when we were going to train to Wien) until today.

Guess this entry will be about random photos and thoughts. (At least it is in chronological order wor)

Bright early morning and we already see something interesting along Rainerstrauss. =)

This is what they call the 250 years of sand. Actually I think they are seriously only going to fill this cylinder 5 times because we saw the 50 and 100 year mark and the sand only has 2 colours. =) Tells a lot doesnt it. But the idea of filling sand is cool isnt it? Imagine telling people you have 250 years of sand =)

And according to twin, this is a birdhouse! I guess one can see the beauty of nature or the world though many many small things.

The King of Austria! and his wife is Queen Elizabeth otherwise known as Sissi =) She came to a tragic end - assassinated and somemore for no good reason. Her life, erm think twin did go through a bit of it. According to the Sissi museum, which twin loves lots, she was a free spirit bounded by the ropes of responsibility. What a catastrophic combination. Imagine a person who loves freedom of all things esp in life and expression being made to fulfill roles that she does not like day after day. =(

The winged horse Pegasus! Remember the sound of music? This place is Schloss Mirabell which is also one of the shooting locations of The Sound of Music! (which also happens to be overpublicised la here - its one of the tourist attractions)

By the way. this is the place where the archbishops of Salzburg stayed and one of the archbishops - the very kelian one that was imprisoned and died in one of the cells in Fortress Hohensalzburg, actually built an area for his mistress within this palace! Talk about gossips!

This is one of the walls of the Mozarteum University. haha we just wandered in. but it was amazing to see a place that is totally dedicated to music. Its something that I cannot do - I am too undisciplined. sigh. Anyway, it was probably the holidays cos we dun really see students. And this is the flute poster! Haha =)

This is the harp player! And twin loves her treble clef necklace =) Haha, hint to someone laughs about erm 14th Feb!

We saw this while still walking on the streets. Overcommercialised Sissy and perfume. Its not very nice. Think Sissy will be displeased, especially when she is so conscious about appearance and image.

Haha. We went back hostel after that walk and wanted to head out again when it started raining. Decided to go for lunch and wait for the rain to stop. Therefore here we are - the decor is nice hor.

Haha. We decided to brave the rain and walk the streets.

Sher: There are Mozart chocs anywhere (and we found out later... even in the vending machine at e hostel). Was abt to buy some for Zm who's v nice & buys me souvenirs whenever he goes overseas... then I realized he'll find out the chocs can be gotten from vending machines. hee Kies friend... I'll find something better in Poland - my country of exchange. grinz

But in the end, the rain was really too heavy so we ended up here. No points for getting it right =)
